ATS Checker
TalenCat CV Maker features an "ATS Checker," specifically designed to help your resume adapt to the Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) commonly used by employers. By analyzing your resume's compatibility with the target job, it provides precise optimization suggestions to increase your chances of passing initial screenings.
About ATS
An ATS is an automated system used by companies to manage recruitment processes, capable of quickly filtering large volumes of resumes. It evaluates resumes based on keyword presence, skill matching, formatting compliance, and other criteria to automatically discard unqualified submissions before they reach recruiters.
The "ATS Checker" in TalenCat CV Maker helps you avoid common pitfalls that might lead to your resume being filtered out, ensuring that it aligns with ATS recognition standards and thereby increasing your chances of success.
Steps to Use
- On the resume editing page, click the "ATS Checker" button at the top, and a sidebar window will appear.
- Paste the complete job description (JD) of your target position into the input box. The sidebar's progress bar will indicate content length, showing "Excellent" when the optimal information density is met for precise analysis.
-
Click the "Check Now" button to start the analysis.
-
Once the check is complete, the sidebar will display the total number of optimization points, categorized into:
- Spelling and Grammar Check
- Terminology Standardization
- Analysis of Required Skills and Certifications
- Adjustment of Keywords, Skills, and Job Titles
- Action Verbs and Metrics
- Additional Optimization Suggestions
Click each category to view detailed optimization advice including:
- Source Module
- Reason for Optimization
- Suggestions
You can click the "Copy" button to transfer the modifications into your resume.
- After modifying your resume, click the refresh icon in the sidebar to re-check; you can also click the "Edit" button to modify the JD and run another check.
Note 📢:
- The more complete the JD you paste, the more accurate the ATS check will be. It's recommended to paste the full job requirements to avoid incomplete analysis results.
- Run multiple checks after making resume modifications until optimization points are down to zero or just 1-2 items to maximize your passing rate.
- Free version users have 5 free checks per month; upgrading to a paid plan unlocks unlimited checks.
