FAQ

How do I change my linked email address?

Currently, we do not support direct changes to the linked email address, as it is the primary credential for logging into TalenCat. If you need to change your email, please contact customer support for assistance.

Can I recover my account after deletion?

No, account deletion is irreversible. All data will be permanently removed from the server and cannot be retrieved. Please ensure you backup your resumes before deleting your account.

What formats can I import for my resume?

We support docx (Word), pdf, txt, and md (Markdown) formats. We recommend uploading plain text documents to avoid complications with images or tables that might affect parsing.

Can I change the language of my resume?

No, the language of the resume must be set during creation or import and cannot be changed afterwards. To create a multi-language version, use the "Resume Translation" feature to generate a new resume.

What should I do if the imported resume format is messed up?

Check if the original file contains excessive images, tables, or special symbols. If so, consider removing them and re-importing the file.

What should I do if export fails?

  1. Check your network connection.
  2. Refresh the page and try again.

If the problem persists, please contact customer support.

Can't find your exported resume?

Your exported resume is saved to your browser's default download folder. Please check your browser's settings to find its download location. If you still can't find the file, we recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome to download it again.

What if my export fails but my free daily export credit was used?

TalenCat CV Maker provides one free resume export credit per day for users on the free plan. We only deduct the daily credit after our server has successfully generated and completely sent the resume file.

If you clicked "Export" and believe the download failed, preventing you from exporting again, the most likely reasons are:

  1. The file was successfully downloaded, but you haven't located it: Our servers may have successfully processed your request and sent the file. Please double-check your browser's "Downloads" folder or its default save location.
  2. A network interruption or browser issue: During the final stage of the file transfer, an unstable local network connection or a browser setting (like a pop-up blocker or security feature) may have prevented the file from saving correctly. In this scenario, our server logs the transfer as "successful," so the credit is deducted.
  3. The daily credit was already used: You might have forgotten that you already successfully exported a resume earlier today.

Because our system tracks credits based on whether the server successfully sends the file, the daily free credit is considered used as soon as our records show a successful transmission. We understand this may be inconvenient; however, for free users, we do not offer credit restoration for issues arising from personal network problems, device settings, or the inability to locate a downloaded file.

Your free export credit will automatically reset the next day. At that time, please ensure you are on a stable network connection before trying again. Thank you for your understanding and support!

Will my existing resumes be affected after upgrading?

No, upgrading only unlocks additional feature access; your created resumes, along with their templates and formats, remain unchanged.

For any other issues, you can contact customer support via the "Feedback" section on the left side of the Resume Management page. We aim to respond within 24 hours.

Getting an Error with TalenCat CV Maker?

If you see an error message while using TalenCat CV Maker—such as "Oops! Something went wrong" or "Application error: a client-side exception has occurred"—that prevents you from using the tool, it is likely a browser compatibility issue. We recommend trying again with the latest version of Google Chrome.

If the error persists after switching browsers, please contact customer support.
